Our Founder
A Craft Rooted in Respect
Legacy Gardens Memorials was founded by James Whitfield, a stonemason with over fifteen years of experience in memorial restoration and bespoke engraving. James began his career working alongside his father — a monumental mason of thirty years — and inherited not only the technical skills of the trade, but a profound understanding of what these stones mean to the families who commission them.
"I've always believed that a headstone is one of the most important things a family will ever commission," James says. "It will stand for generations. It deserves to be treated with the same care and craftsmanship as the day it was placed."
Today, Legacy Gardens Memorials serves families and funeral professionals across England and Wales, offering everything from routine cleaning to fully bespoke memorial design — all carried out personally, with the same attention to detail that has defined the business from the very beginning.
